OTARU, Japan, and SINGAPORE – Grand Park Otaru, a luxury 296-room hotel located along Ishikari Bay in the beautiful sea-trading port of Otaru, today announced the appointment of Leslie Chiyoma as General Manager of the hotel.
Leslie joins the hotel with more than 20 years of hospitality experience where he held leadership appointments with luxury hotel chains and select service hotels in Japan, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.
Born in Saitama, Japan, Leslie started his career as a sales manager in an international hospitality company. He worked across multiple functions and rose through the ranks to leadership positions that required him to oversee the development of a new resort and operate a new hotel in Niseko, Hokkaido. He was also a hotel performance consultant for nearly a decade where he provided analysis and guidance that improved revenue and cost for 38 hotels around the world, excluding Europe and China.

Tapping on his wealth of knowledge, experience and relationships in the industry, Leslie will spearhead the strategic direction and business planning for Grand Park Otaru and lead the team to deliver the best stay experiences for guests and achieve business goals for stakeholders.
Leslie holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Waseda University in Tokyo.
