From 10 to 14 February 2021, Tablescape curates a playful Valentine’s Day menu (from $168++ per couple) that takes you and your partner through the romantic roller coaster ride that led up to your first date!
Discovery is a cheeky hat-tip to the modern habit of checking out your date’s public persona, much as a spy would! A classic French brandade, here made with black cod into creamy emulsion, makes for a witty culinary allegory. Zinged up with lemon and given texture with crispy squid ink polenta, Discovery gets the meal off to a smooth start – the way you hope your budding romance will begin.
With that hint of your date’s personality, tiptoe your way to the First Meeting where both of you will be showcasing the best side of yourselves. Similarly, this lavish plate brings together some of the best produce you can find in the sea or on land: a whole poached lobster crowned with luxurious foie gras and caviar.
The main course lets you subtly share how you feel about one another. Yes is a tender seabass, pan-seared until the skin is crispy – and served with sweet creamy burrata and a cool refreshing tomato gazpacho. No pairs a toothsome pork belly, slow-cooked for 12 whole hours, with the spicy, slightly bitter flavours of kale wilted in aglio olio or garlic-infused olive oil. Can’t lean one way or the other? Then order the vegetarian Maybe which features carnaroli risotto topped with smoked beetroot, rich parmesan cheese and aromatic rosemary.
Relive and toast the memory as you Fall In Love: this chocolate dessert adds zing with the sour-sweet flavours of raspberries and rich floral tones with jasmine tea ice cream – a perfect foil for the complex dark sweetness of the fine chocolate. After all, love isn’t just all sweetness and light; but the tangy twists and turns only made it deeper and more exciting.
And if the meal is when you fall in love? Then take this as a tongue-in-cheek congratulations from the culinary team to you! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Add even more sparkle to the memory by opting for the set that includes two glasses of champagne or splash out and opt for the set that includes a whole bottle.
